A word from the founder of the competition

I had been thinking about organizing an international guitar competition for several years. During my teaching career, I participated with my students in many guitar competitions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Germany, and I realized that there was no guitar competition in Czechia where the youngest musicians could perform. After consulting with leading guitar teachers from Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland, I was advised to organize this competition. I put all my experience from my many years of teaching into the preparation of the competition, as well as all the new knowledge and information I gained from my work in Germany, Austria, Poland, and Slovakia. With the 10th anniversary edition, I ended my position as director of the ZUŠ Zruč nad Sázavou and thus also as director of the competition. I am handing over the leadership to the next generation of renowned guitarists and teachers, and I firmly believe in the successful continuation of my idea.
